I'm very excited to be the 8th stop on Kristin Cashore's Fire Blog Tour, where Kristin tells us a little bit about all the important characters in Fire, the companion novel to Graceling. Today's character just so happens to be one of my favorites, so I'm pleased to share more about him with you, courtesy of Kristin:"Prince Brigan, Nax and Roen’s younger son and the Dells’ military commander, is also trying. Trying to prevent an inevitable civil war; trying to keep his brother, the king, focused; trying to fight off the looting parties that are the scourge of the mountains; trying to get to his appointments on time; trying to fall asleep at night and rarely succeeding. He would also very much like to have a try at breaking Fire’s neck. Sigh… too much to do…."

Umm I was lucky enough to read an ARC several months ago (but a signed copy is an opportunity I can not pass up!), and I have to say I'm a fan of Archer--yes, even over Brigan, although he's okay. I guess. :)

Brigan is one of the characters whose name came to me immediately. I think I liked it because it sounded like "brigand." I also liked the way it sounded when it's expanded to his full, royal name, Brigandell.
