Interesting that so much drugs/sex gets into YA. I'd been told my book has somewhat of a YA feel in early chapters (despite being aimed at adults). Then, later, a few intimate scenes didn't throw off the readers saying "OK for YA" and I was surprised.

Awkward sentences can always be rephrased... strange that the editor wouldn't correct that. Hmm.

As good as some of the current YA is, I don't think many of the books are appropriate for young teens. Great review. I've seen this book around, but didn't know much about it.
